The Shade Sail Company’s aim is to provide an alternative form of shade solutions using contemporary designs. We are located in the province of Andalucia in Southern Spain where climatic conditions are very similar to areas of Australia where shade sails were first introduced.

Shade sails, also known as Tension Membrane Structures, were first developed in Australia almost
30 years ago to protect us from the suns harmful Ultra Violet rays. In Spain they are known as
"Velas de Sombra". Shade sails are an aesthetically pleasing shade system that adds value to the areas they cover.
Shade sails can be spectacular looking and not only provide shade but also enhance the visual appearance and look of an out-door area. Due to the combination of tension and the curved design they usually require minimal support structure.
Shade sails can also provide a cost effective solution to large areas such as swimming pools, playgrounds, car parking areas and tennis courts where minimal support is required.
A Shade sail can be used to accentuate any outdoor setting by creating a practical and eye-catching area. Their colourful, stylish and contemporary appearance can be used in residential, commercial, educational or leisure settings.
We are continually being warned that too much sun not only causes skin to age prematurely but can also cause Melanoma (skin cancer) and eye damage. Unfortunately research proves this is to be a fact, which means we all need to be aware of the dangers of the suns rays and the role that it plays in our everyday lives.
Research also shows that skin is in most danger from UV radiation damage in the first 15 years of life. This means that shade should be a priority in areas used by children and young adults such as parks, school play areas and pools.
Our Shade Sails give a high level of protection (up to 97%) from the sun and look fantastic in your home or business’s outdoor areas, particularly pools, spa’s, barbeques, terraces, children’s play areas or any open areas that require shade. Shade sails are colourful and are available in any shape. Our contemporary custom designs can enhance and rejuvenate areas that were possibly previously unused, due to the sun or lack of shade.
Shade sails are extremely versatile, they can be directly attached to exterior walls or patio columns. In addition, they can be supported by timber posts or steel columns secured in concrete footings, and they can also be taken down seasonally as required. Click here to view our products.
